Payments for Box 1 include all Grants, Scholarships and Loans, in addition to the payments you (or someone else) have made; minus refunds issued. However, Box 1 cannot reflect an amount higher than the maximum “qualified tuition-related expenses (QTRE)” = the tuition and mandatory fees charged during the calendar year. Box 1 payments will show the lower amount; for most people, that will be tuition and fees (QTRE).
The calendar year includes any tuition and fee charges made to an account in 2024. Generally that will be Winter 2024, Spring 2024, Summer 2024 and Fall 2024. Except: Winter 2025 Study Abroad charges are considered part of 2024 (But NOT 2025 J-Term classes, those will be 2025).
Payments for 2024 will include any payments received between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024. NOTE: Paper checks received while Goucher College is closed for the Holiday break (end of day Dec 20 – Jan 2, 2025) will be credited to the student account once the college reopens in January; meaning, they will be 2025 payments. IF you want to ensure your payment is credited to 2024, it must be received by Goucher no later than December 19 to allow for processing time. Online payments are credited to the student account on the date payment is made online.
The college's 2024 1098-T forms will be mailed by January 31, 2025 by ECSI, the college's third party servicer. As a courtesy, ECSI notifies students by e-mail that their 1098-T form was printed and mailed. If you do not receive an e-mail, Goucher may not have been required to issue a 1098T to you for 2024, or the e-mail address on record was not up-to-date by January 15, 2025.
An electronic copy of your 2024 (starting 2/1/25) 1098T can be found at www.heartland.ecsi.net.
• At the top of the home page click on “Find Your Tax Document”
• You'll need to either Register, or Sign In using your login IF you've created one before with ECSI
• At the top of the site, click on "Click Here for Instructions to Access 1098T"
NOTE: The form can only be accessed by the student and will require access to the Goucher email address.
Electronic copies of your 2015-2023 1098-T forms are also available through ECSI's website, if you received one for those previous tax years.
If you require further assistance, please call ECSI at 1-866-428-1098 or email cservice@ecsi.net. You can also email billing@6lwboc.com. Be aware that ECSI receives a large number of calls through mid-April, and as a consequence, wait times may be unavoidable.
Students who receive a 2024 1098-T form may be eligible for a Federal Education Tax credit on the 2024 tax return.
Goucher College is not allowed to discuss tax implications, how this form may relate to you, or give tax advice. All pertinent information is on the 1098-T form itself. Please consult your tax preparer with all questions related to this form.

No. Goucher uses a service to print and mail these forms. The service will send them directly to the mailing address we have on record for the student. If you haven't received a form, please email us at billing@6lwboc.com.

If you were enrolled for either the 2024 winter/J-term or 2024spring semester, but had no payments or financial aid credited to your account in 2024, you will not receive a 2024 1098-T as you had no reportable transactions.
